I love Halloween

When time allows, I try to create a Halloween card to send to friends and family. I’m not much of a Christmas or Thanksgiving person, they both have their merits, but I LOVE Halloween. So, here are a few illustrations from Halloween’s past. Happy Hallow’s Eve!

Stay in place. Stay! I said, stay. Staaaayyy.

We are all feeling it. I decided to do a few self-portraits based on the isolation of Covid. I limited myself to just a couple of hours and all honesty: no make-up, frizzy ponytail, and gray roots. I had never created a self portrait and wouldn’t have except I think of Rembrandt, Van Gogh and other artists who would create them, especially when a model just wasn’t available. It’s good practice, especially for the time crunch. If you are an obsessive drawer/painter/creator of anything, it’s freeing to set a time limit. Aggravating, but freeing. Of course, the perfectionist in me is twitching. I’d like to try out a few more just as this pandemic continues and changes.
